I’m so sorry to hear that Claudia. It could be the size of the pan you used for the cake, perhaps it wasn’t large enough so it needed more time to bake?? If the custard is a little runny, you need to continue simmering and whisking it until it thickens to the right consistency (which can take some minutes more). Hope this helps!

The cooking liquid from the rhubarb is what is used to make the cordial. So, you keep the strained liquid (only removing the rhubarb) and then add in the vanilla, lemon and sugar. Hope this helps!
